I want to add in another roost to this coop:

I am afraid there might not be enough head room?

Also, should I put linoleum on the bottom board and scape the poo down into the lower wood shavings? Or is there a better way?

It is kind of hard to tell the height from your photo- if the chickens roost on it and look comfortable it should be fine. If you use lino on the board- don't scrape into the wood chips. I scrape mine right into a bucket for the garden (in winter) or the compost pile in summer. The poop composts a lot faster than the wood chips.

You don't need much head space on a roost. The birds will pile in even if they have to duck. Try to keep 12 inches but if you can only get 8 they will still use it.

Besides - they aren't reading books or anything up there. Just closing thier eyes & going to sleep.
