Hi I have a flock of 13 and they eat grower feed because there is a younger pullet, but anyway I I fill up there feeder every morning and the feed is just going by so fast to fast so I was wondering how much I should be feeding them. Thanks

Is there a chance wild birds, squirrels, etc. are getting at the feed? You can try splitting it and feeding half in the morning and half in the afternoon instead of having feed out all day that wildlife can get to.

Average 1/4 lb of feed per chicken per day. A 50 lb. bag of food should last you approximately 2 weeks. If they free range lots and are finding food and/or you feed lots of treats/veggies/etc. it may last longer.

I always see sparrows in my feeders , soon I’ll move it inside the coop which helps but an occasional bird gets in the coop .....

I’d never restrict their feed, molting and egg laying uses different amounts of calories....but wild birds can bring disease too ...
