How much landing space?

Does anyone know how much space a chicken needs to safely land when jumping down from a roost? I am planning my new coop and need to know height placement of roosting bars and what kind of room they need to fly down from them. They are LF and bantams. Thanks for the help.

Bantams only need about 2 feet.
