How much longer before I see an egg?????

I'm checking every day... may have to throw done golf balls in there maybe...

The golf all will not make them lay any faster, it just encourages them to lay in the nest box. Our Maran, the last of the 3/1/13 pullets started laying this past week,

My RIR hen is 19 weeks when she started laying- I put in a fake egg and she will always lay in the opposite box!

After a week and half she's not laying now.... my other RIR isn't laying and my Amerucana isn't laying either.

So patience is probably key... hope you get eggs soon!

My lone red sexlink began laying on the 18th, and has laid an egg every day now. We have got 10 eggs. We got her from Atwoods, and I assumed and decided she was 1 week old. Doing the math from when we got her, she was 16 weeks and 1 day. I'm kind of thinking I missed judging her age by a week, though. 16 weeks isn't too uncommon to start laying, but seems awful young. I didn't think she looked ready as far as comb/wattle size, but her face, comb, and wattles were turning red. I was actually shocked that she started laying.
I have had these red sexlinks in the past, and they are, without a doubt, the absolute best layers anyone can have.

If you spend a lot of time with your chickens, (and don't have a rooster) walk around and casually chase after them, reaching your hand out towards them to see if they'll stop and squat. You'll know it when you see it. That's a surefire way to know an egg is on the way. Soon, very soon.
And the golf balls work wonders.

Have 4 Red Sex Links 19 weeks old. Nothing for me yet. Yesterday I told my DH to chase after the one that we think will be the 1st to lay, but all she did was run away, no squatting yet. I've checked the pelvis and still seems quite small. Here is a pic ....the other 3 are following with red combs and waddles but this one is the biggest and reddest.
