How much med do I use?

I just went and got tetracycline for my 12 week old silkie chick how much do I put in a regular sized waterer.

This is not the chick but this is the waterer. one quart container.

I am going thru the very same thing with this medication. It is 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. That is a quart, so 4th it. You'll be good to go! Good luck and best wishes for sick chickies.
 
I'm glad you shared what the vet said; mine hasn't bothered to return my call. Not much on being a chicken doctor I guess.
An older lady that works at the Farmer's Co-Op here in Little Rock, AR is the one that told me it was 1\\4 teaspoon per gallon.
If your vet said 1/4 per quart, I've really been under medicating mine! No wonder my little rhode island red isn't getting better very fast; a little, but not very fast. Very good to know that 1 teapsoon is about 200 mg.
 
I guess it is because you can give from 200-400mg depending on how sick, That is my understanding. Although this is my first time so no guarantees
