I candled my broody's eggs this evening, she's been setting them for 6 days. The little embryos were really bouncing around in there, is that normal? I tried watching a few YouTube videos of eggs at the same stage and the embryos don't seem to be moving at all in most of them, and in one it only seemed to be moving very slightly.

It kinda varies really. I've candled some that didn't move at all. And some that seem to bounce all over in there. I would say that a lot of movement means a strong, healthy, active chick is developing.

Awesome, thanks! This is my first hatching that I've been able to candle the eggs, the broody was too wild before, I rescued her recently. My broody had a really rough few weeks before she began setting, including losing her partner about a month ago, so I'm really anxious for these eggs to hatch. She's all alone at the moment and really needs a flock, but doesn't integrate easily with other chickens.
