How much Polyvisol to give

Are you giving the vitamins to one chicken or many?

How old is the chicken?

Why are you giving it?

Make sure you have the Poly Vi Sol WITHOUT added iron. It is poisonous for chickens.

I gave my fully grown chicken four drops a day. She would drink it if I touched the dropper to the side of her beak... it made her kind of sip and swallow. There were also a few times I just put the drops on some hardboiled egg yolk and she ate it all up. I have no idea about how much you would use to dose water, but that would be convenient if you were treating a bunch of chickens. My only concern there is that the vitamins would encourage bacteria to grow in the water. Probably not an issue if it is changed frequently.

"Probably not an issue if it is changed frequently."

But then, if you're changing water frequently, you're probably throwing away most of the vitamins because of the amount you need to put into the water in order to make sure each chicken is getting a daily vitamin dose.

I'd skip on putting Polyvisol into the waterer and just give 3 drops a day per chicken, depending what illness your treating.

If you decide to use the waterer method in order to dose all birds, I'd get water soluable poultry vitamins from the feed store. I haven't used it, but I think it's called Avian Charge? It's got minerals & vitamins and is meant for the waterer.
