How much room for each chicken?

I know that I've read this like twenty times here, but I can't seem to remember what I read. How much room do I need in the coop for each chicken? It's warm here most of the year, only gets below freezing a couple of nights in Dec/Jan, and we don't get tons of rain. We do get hot winds in the fall, and some colder winds in Jan/Feb/March.

We're looking to convert an old-style electronics cabinet (I don't know if it had a TV in it or a stereo) into a small coop. We just need to make sure there's enough room.c

4 sq ft is the normal on the coop. But you can probaly get by with not less than 2 sq ft. since it sounds like they wont be spending alot of time in it.
