How Much Room??

Hello,

I currently have 16 one month old chicks. They have both an inside and an outside coop. I know that their inside coop is plenty big enough but I am not sure about their outside space. I am using dog kennels covered with hardware cloth and it is 20feet by 10 feet. Is that enough room for all 16 of them once they become full sized chickens?

You should be good. That's 200 sq. ft.. 16 need a minimum of 160.

It depends on the breed. The minimum for medium sized breed like a leghorn needs 10 sq ft per bird in the run. A larger breed like a Barred Rock will need at least 12 sq ft per bird. An extra large breed like Jersey Giant will need at least 15 sq ft per bird. Some individuals will need/want more room than others.
