I know sameness is required when your trying to get you quail to lay but I'm wondering how much?
I know they need the same pen and the same food but what about?
Time of feeding?
Location of food and water?
If I leave a dusting bowl one day and not the next?
Change in weather?
What if I cut the grass... will the sound of the mower slow them down....They didn't act scared.

I guess your guessing my girls haven't started laying and I'm starting to wonder about all the variables that could be affecting their mood.

Time of feeding?

Possible but I havn't had any issues.

Any change in the fixtures in the cage can confuse and upset them.

These don't seem to bother them.

my Bobs are kina spazy / flighty the closer I feed them to dark the better they seem to do I check their water both in the morning and at dark I feed them clean their feeders at dark/dusk mine are in the back with little interaction with most noise from the street .

I've had my birds for a week and a couple days and they aren't laying. I'm not really in a hurry I just want to know I have made the conditions right for them to start.
