i usually feed them about 32 ounces of starter a day maybe a little more but they look quite plump can i cut them back, there outside and have almost all their feathers. they may be older than 5 weeks maybe 6 or 7 but i know it hasnt been 2 months yet.
i usually use and old stonyfield 32 ounce yogurt container about half to 3/4 full twice a day so 16-20 ounces 2 times a day. is this alot what do youy all feed?

Ducks (all birds actually) will eat until their full. So just feed them the amount they'll eat, when their food dish is empty or dirty then change their food.

Also, remember that they are probably wasting most of it. Check out how much ends up in the bottom of the water bucket or pool -- they take beaks full to the water and then let most of it fall to the bottom uneaten.

I was told to allow my mallards to eat freely until they were flying then cut the feed back to 1.7 pounds per duck per week once they are flying.

With flight feathers almost completely developed, it appears my mallards will be able to fly to some extent by 8 weeks of age.

This was recommended by a person who raises mallards exclusively, so it might not apply to domestic ducks.

I always just kept feed available to the ducklings, but I would judge how much to set out based on how much was left from the previous feeding. And that changed, with the temperature, how much forage was available, how many treats they were given, etc. etc.
