How much should baby chicks eat??

I would just stick to the starter feed for a while....

I have 31 or 33 cant remember lol... 5 wk olds (well 5 of them are 4 wks)...and they are eating a TON!! I am already 1/2way through a big bag of food!
Just opened it like middle of last wk!
I didnt realize it; but they had an empty feeder this am and they were MEAN to each other when I fed them this morning; out of sheer panic
I had to dump a pile somewhere else fast..they were NASTY MEAN to each other...

honestly; do they get mean if they are out of food for a few hours?? they had food when I went to bed!!!

I gave them the egg because they didn't seem to be eating the starter food, and the egg has some good stuff in it for them, and my thinking was something is better then nothing.

My new baby I just got today(aboutone to two weeks old) loves to eat grinded up bread crumbs with sugar water added to it. When I first got her, she wouldn't drink or eat anyting! So I thought she would funnaly eat if I mix her food and water together, and she loves it!
