I've got a few chicks (a duckling 2 barred rocks and perhaps an auracana) in a pen by themselves that have food 24/7 , but the other chickens that free range have to be given the layer pellets and scratch and be watched when they eat it because our dogs love to eat their food and will chase the chickens away to eat the food.

I'm probably going to say a million dumb things since these are my first chickens, so bear with me.

They free range from dawn till dusk, so should I be feeding them every day? We have 1.5 acres goat wired in for the dogs, but the chickens wander into the woods to forage as well. They don't go far and I'm not worried since 2 dogs can squeeze through the back and go chase whatever might try and eat them. The dogs don't usually go for the chickens, but they're egg suckers, all of them. (One big puppy does, but they always stay clear of him) and one other dog zeroes in on the one I named Off White (Little bantam whitish one) and she just follows it, she's gone after it a couple times, but he's fast.

All in all, I've got around 30 in the flock including 3 chinese geese, 2 ducks (Roun or mallard) , a young guinea, and one duckling in the pen (It's black, but not feathered). Not all are in the pictures since they run all about, but most come when I feed them.

I don't have a coop or nest boxes (Okay, yeah, beat me over the head with irresponsibility) , but they do have safe places to roost at night.

I feed them once or twice a day along with any scraps I've got from meals or the garden (Which is totally chicken proof).

Also, the big red rooster make REALLY weird nosies. He makes like 50 different noises, some sound like howling, some are like a garden hose, some crowing, some little noises and things. I don't know what to make of it. He's the dominant rooster (Guy, the bantam and Fluff Butt, whatever he is)

Umm, any tips or telling me what the ducks are or what species the white ones are or the dark speckled ones with white heads are would be good or the fluffy tan/grey rooster is (last picture, center at the top).
