I have started my coop and stopped to think about how many chickens i could have in my setup. Maybe you guys could help me out.The coop interior will about 54" tall x 40" wide x & 60+" long....

OH, the run is about 12' x 6'

you might be able to get away with 4 or 5 chickens in that size coop. I think the rule is two square feet per chicken? but dont quote me on it. I currently house eight chickens in a 12x12 pen and they do just fine.

Large Fowl? Bantams? Confined to the run or given free-range time? I would also say that four standard birds would be the maximum for that space. You could potentially house more bantams there. We have three coops that open into one run that's approximately 300 sq. ft. -have 7 standard hens and 2 bantams that share the common space. I'd recommend constructing the run as large as possible. -don't want to have to deal with feather picking and squabbles. If, however, you do plan on letting them roam about a lawn/pasture area for part of the day, you may get by with a smaller run.

The run is about as big as I can go without taking over my whole yard. They will be kept to the run when no one is there to watch them.
With the current math I'm getting feed back on, I think I'm gonna go with Bantams.
The kiddo's are going 4H show birds so I'm thinking 4 Wyandottes for eggs and 2 Sebrights for show.
I'm gonna have to spend time researching hatching egg. This is from the way my chicken pullet search is going.
