how much space does a trio really need?

I am dividing up my 8x12 shed into breeding pens. Most of my breeds have trios, and I want to maximize my space. They will all have outside runs so i only need space for egg laying and roosting at night, none of them spend time indoors during the day right now. The placement of the inside beams would give me 6 2x6 pens but not sure if that is too narrow? To make them wider would increase my cost but also don't want to have to redo it later. These are all medium breeds (legbar, isbar, breda), will this work or no?

That is techically enough space for three birds. It might be hard to clean though.
