My father would like to get 4 or 5 Nankin Bantam hens. How much space would their coop need to be? And their run? I was thinking a 4x6 coop but the run I'm not sure. Thanks for the help in advance!

Coop sounds large enough. Bantams do squeeze in better than standards. You know about the 4 square foot suggestion. It covers standard breed chickens. The height of your coop should also be factored in as well. The higher the structure... the more volume available,....... and more comfort for your chickens.. Make your run as large as things will allow you to. ( budget, space available, aesthetics ???? )

WISHING YOU BEST

Thanks. We have plenty of space. Probably about 6 feet tall so my Dad can go in. We are probably modifying a 4x4 plan. Just in case we get 6 or I think 10 bantam hens would fit ok in 4x6 but squished so no more than 8. Wait no more than 6. Oh well. 5 for now. They're just too darn cute!

We are only getting 5. My dad said that so I'm good. But if they have like 6 we can't just ditch that last one they have now can we?

An example of chicken math: "I'm getting 5 chicks. Ok honey?" "YEah ok" 1 hour later "I'm back. With 10 chicks."
That darn chicken math.
