she should start laying any day now.
some things to look for to know when she will start is watch for her comb/wattles turning dark pink. also, she will start 'squatting' when someone (or a rooster) approaches her. If she starts spending time in a nesting box, then it mean she will be laying very soon

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2, could be any day now, do you know what breed she is? Hope the eggs start showing up soon!

Welcome to BYC!

As they others have said, should be any time now. When they start to squat for you when you lean over them, the eggs should be coming down the pipe soon!

Enjoy that first egg and welcome to our flock!

Glad you joined us! There is a simple test you can do to check if your hen is laying/ready. Hold the hen firmly and turn her on her back. Put your fingers on her breast bone and work your way down to her vent area. You should feel 2 bones sticking up. These are her pelvic bones. If you can fit only 1 finger upright between her pelvic bones she's still roughly 4 weeks off laying, 1 and 1/2 fingers means she's a little closer, 2/3 weeks, and 2 or more fingers means she's either close to or laying already.
