how much treats per berd ?

hello

I am wondering about treats I have loads to give them but want to make sure that they dont eat too much !

I have two adult BO and three 6/7 week olds they are BO, wyandotte and barnevelder

the treats I have available are:

mealworms
corn
fruit Ie apples , grapes
nuts


I am just not sure on HOW MUCH to give as at the moment they get about 2 handfulls of mealworms the odd apple or grapes and a handfull of corn(before bed)

not at once though throughout the day and a bit before bed time.

any info would be lovely

oh.. they do get fed the "normal" food everyday and they have to eat this first before they get there daily treat !

One rule of thumb is, not over 10% of their daily iontake.

That sounds like a good amount. Just as you say, you want to make sure they maintain an appetite for their nutritionally balanced layer feed.
