how much water/feed

how much water and feed will a chicken consume when they reach egg laying age, but will have free range most days and fed 'scraps'?

I'm not exactly sure how much they eat, but I keep food and water avalible to my chickens all the time. If they are free ranging then they won't eat quite was much. Chickens do drink alot. i have 9 hens and they drink 1 gallon a day.

Mine free range all day. They eat very little of the layer mash I leave out. I give small amounts of treats. Mostly they find their own food. Don't know quantities, sorry. Some people do keep records, though!

thanks, that is what i was lookig for. 9 hens/1 gal per day!

and for the treats and not eating as much food.

i bought a 3 gal waterer and 13 lb food..and just wondering if i could down-size to get more coop space - or if i was going to need that!
