How much will newly hatched chicks move around?

I have a homemade bater. The eggs are in a dish about 1 1/2 inches deep. I have two eggs. Will they stay in the dish which is about 5x 7 inches or will they climb out? Also the eggs are resting in shredded paper. Should I remove it or let them hatch in it? Its holding my eggs ag an angle for hatch...

they will climb out

I would hatch them on a paper towel. they will try to eat the shredded paper.

Well, eating paper doesn't sound like a good first food!
