How much would this chicken dinner cost in a restaurant?

We don't have summer or fall here, our three seasons are Winter, Mud and Blackfly.

The leaf litter on the forest floor accumulates year after year.

Some Red Maple leaves are already beginning to turn, but none have fallen.

Don't know what to tell you about the light.

ETA: I just realized you might be talking about the Oyster pics rather than the Sulphur Shelf pic - those were from last fall.

ETA: When I was a kid, one of my "horse farming" jobs was to drive the mini tractor around our 5 acres of pasture and pick up the horse apples. I also had to collect any puff balls that I happend to find along the way. Some of them were huge!!! They are tasty tasty tasty, just dont eat them if they exude the black puff when touched

Yep, you need to find young puffballs.

I just got back from a mushroom walk and we got a giant zero.

All we found were some "who knows what you are" little brown ones and the hallucinogenic grow on horse poop ones (can't remember the name).

And nope, we didn't eat either.

I don't know anything about wild mushrooms...

Are those Oyster ones edible?! That's awesome. Does anyone have a book or site to recommend as a field guide? I don't want to trip out after dinner.

I have been into mushroom hunting for awhile, and some of the guides are very helpful, but I never felt that confident until some experts pointed out some edible ones to me.

I would greatly recommend trying to find a mushrooming class in your area or knowledgeable person and ask them to take you out.
