How much space do 11 chicks need for the first 4-6 weeks? Temp. should be warm enough here in 4-6 weeks to move them outside. Right now i have them in a cage that is prob. ????3'x3'????

What kind of chicks, and how old are they? If day old, they have enough space. If 8 weeks old, they probably are crowded, especially if they are standards.

Oh Boy, in 4 weeks that cage will look like it's 1 x 1. I'd plan on more room

they're bantam chicks. They will be 1 week this Sunday. I'm going to build them something bigger. Anyone know what size I should build?

Does 2' wide 2' tall and 8' long sound big enough???

ok, so i built the new brooder. I'm going to put it out in our shed. Theres no heat but it is enclosed. If I get the temp. right in the brooder, when would be a good time to move them out of the smaller cage they're in now? They are 1 week old today.
