Found these on Youtube.

Mike Rowe is helping the sexers at MurrayMcMurray Hatchery. I found this interesting, though I hate the way they handle the poor chicks, and thought it was interesting. Enjoy.

There are three main ways to sex chickens. The one you are referring to is classified as vent sexing. There is also a wing sexing where pullets grow their wing feathers faster than cockerels. This can normally be determined on breeds like Rhode Island Reds or leghorns who don't need to be vent sexed. Also sex links are birds that are different breeds that can be sexed just by their color and can be simply sorted based on that alone. For example if you breed a Rhode Island red to a leghorn , all of the male chicks will be yellow when they hatch and the female chicks will have a brown tint to them. Thus the breed red sex links.
