Nice! Are the other ones RIR's?
LOL!!! I think they're thinking more like "what are those chickens doing in OUR pool?????? LOL!!!That second picture with the dogs looking on (thinking YUMMMMMY) is to die for!!! So funny!
I hatched all my chickens. I call them Texas Reds. My Dom is basically quiet but she can raise the roof if she wants too. I have hatched one of her offspring who has become a cockerel he has the rose comb & the prettiest markings I think. Very different looking..Nice! Are the other ones RIR's?
I have 4 Dominiques and 1 Black Australorp. The Doms are very nice chickens, the BA is a little shy and kind of a loner, This is my first full year of having chickens, so I picked the Dom breed cause I was told that they are quiet and friendly. Living in a neighborhood, I needed the quiet kind, and I wanted friendly cause I knew I'd want to pick them up. Out of the 4 Dom's only 1 is a chronic complainer, (maybe she really isn't complaining, but it sure sounds like that! I am hoping to move to a larger property--I do want to have more chickens. ......and maybe some alpacas.
Yep !! The OP said she only lets them in the pool when she's with them. I agree though much safer. I think chickens in a pool unsupervised would eventually get water logged & drown. Their not ducks.Much safer:

I agree good post your right. I really want a pool I'm thinking above ground its just to hot here in Texas & the summers just stay around forever & a day.Yes, the OP is doing it right, she is supervising and not allowing any unsupervised in there. Just wanted to show a safer alternative. There are those, you know, that get the wrong idea about chickens being 'safe' in a pool. It's the internet, you know.![]()
