I have had these doz quail for a couple months and and I have had a half white/brown egg and now this blue/white egg?
Just wondering about the different egg colers that i might encounter? Nate

When ever the "Paint Department" gets lazy.

The color doesn't matter. Trying to attribute color of coturnix eggs, the same way as chicken eggs is folly. The color doesn't really matter [IMG]

    whats up guys?

to me it is random randomness, one day chocolate eggs, another white, another blue...

I do have some hens that lay spotted eggs versus blotched eggs, but this is subject to change, like Joe said, its the paint dept, how long the egg stays in the overhead bay, what they got to paint with, who is oncall..etc.

might be interesting to note if change in diet, light, water, stress play any part, but gotta love mother nature!
