How often do you cute your ducks nails if at all?

After my hands are recovering from trying to bathe my new 4 week old muscovy, I think that nail trimming may be in the future. Ouch (there is not a smiley with a bandaid)

more on-topic, somewhat: What this thread really has me wondering is, has anyone ever painted their ducks' nails?!? I'd totally do it if I was sure it was reasonably nontoxic.
