How often do you guys wash the waterer and feeders?

Wow. My feeder is one of those 5 gallon metal feeders that hangs from the ceiling. I haven't cleaned it out in months. My 5 gallon waterer gets cleaned out when I refill, usually about once every two weeks. It's staying cleaner now that it is out in the run (rather than inside with the wood chips and dust). I also use a bit of ACV in it. I've never had algae form in it?? I can't believe how cleanly you guys are. My chickens are livestock, but they're very healthy and get very well fed. (My eggs are really hard compared to others nearby... I don't know whether it's the minerals ~ they have unlimited oyster shell, which I must say doesn't go down very fast ~ or the fact they are on pasture??)

Waterers are cleaned almost daily with bleach water. I can't stand the smell of a nasty waterer. The feeders are not cleaned so often but they stay cleaner.

I have one of the red-and-white plastic waterers. I swirl the water around to rinse the dirt out of the basin every day, or more if they're playing in the mud and I'm around.

When I refill the waterer I scrub it down with a small (SMALL) amount of dawn, or 409. That's every 2 days, roughly. Or 3 or 4 if they're drinking water out of muddy puddles in the yard.
