How often does your silkie go broody?

I can't remember exactly. Five months sounds about right, maybe closer to six. Is she clucking alot?

Oh yes, she is a big talker, grumbler. But she also has her sweet little noises too... I guess I had better move faster on the new coop then. I was going to do all the framing today, but it has decided to storm all day..

You mean ... some Silkies AREN'T broody?! Seriously, though, I've got one that stops being broody only long enough to raise the hatchlings then lay another clutch! And it looks like I've got two more, blue and splash sisters, that are going to be just like that. Right now they are both trying to brood during this ridiculous heat wave, so I'm running over to the coop 5 and 6 times a day to shoo them off the nest and make them drink some water. I have a fan on them, but still, I just don't see how they can sit there all day every day in this heat!
He! My girl.is the same way!!! She looked hurt when.I took all five eggs from.under her again tonight!!! It's like when isn't she broody?!?! Glad we Silkie mom's are in the same boat!

Make yourself a “Broody Breaker”. Got the idea from The Chicken Chic. She has a excellent website about chickens. I put mine in the Broody Breaker cage(dog crate) and within 2-3 days the regain their chicken senses !
