How often should a 3 year old chicken lay?

I got my chickens Saturday, 2 are fully grown. One is 3 years old and the other I’m guessing is 1-2 years old. So the younger one has laid 3 eggs since Saturday (it’s Tuesday morning now.) But the older one has only laid once on Saturday afternoon. I’m not concerned yet, but when should I be?

She may just be a little stressed from the move. Sometimes it can take a few days to a few weeks for one to settle in. And depending on what the season is where you are, she may start molting which will affect egg production. You may just have to wait and see.
Be sure they have proper feed and oyster shell and grit at their disposal. Also fresh water.
Good luck with your girl. :love

I think I remarked that the first egg was in process before you brought them home and that you may not get anymore for awhile....she may start up again, or go into a molt and not lay until after the solstice.

You did say that. The only reason I posted afterwards is the other grown chicken has had no problem with egg production since I got her, but I guess she isn’t as old. lol
