I have 4 different breeds of chic's that are almost 2 weeks old and our family loves them to death. So far I have given them hard-boiled egg with chicken starter mashed into it,some grape tomatoes diced, some arugula, dandelion greens, bits of watermelon and some bits of red onion. They go crazy over all of it but I was wondering if this was to much or if I am just worrying to much..

To be honest I think you should be fine with what you are doing. Be sure you are giving them treats in moderation (especially because they are still little and if anything, so they don't take the treats for granted), but chickens were made to eat plants and such and because of that you should be a-ok!

Welcome!

Feeding Treats was a recent Topic of the Week and one of the questions asked and answered was - At what age can you start offering chicks treats and how do you go about it? so you might find this thread helpful: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1161068/topic-of-the-week-feeding-treats

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Thank you all for your kind insight..Just can't help myself I love to spoil these little ones..But like mentioned above all in moderation

Giving treats too much, too often to little tykes causes them to turn away from their nutritionally balanced feed. They are like kids and will pick treats all the time and reject the healthy stuff.

Treats at any age should never amount to more than 10% of their daily ration.
