How Often to Feed my Chicks Grit???

I have a buff orpington, a light brahma (both 4 weeks old), and 2 Black Australorps (both 2 weeks old). I fed them some chick grit yesterday and today for the first time. They also have access to some dirt and grass in the brooder. I was wondering if i should give them some grit every day? And when should i let them have grit free-choice? The only treats they have been fed so far is grass, and I'm planning on giving them egg yolk and maybe oats tomorrow. I think they have enough grit now to have no problem with the snacks tomorrow? I'm new to chicken keeping...please answer. Thanks.

I think most people give it free choice if at all. I just give mine chunks of sod. That way they can get grass bugs and grit in one go.

I just go with dirt. Give them enough to scratch and play in.
