Advice on how often you feed your flock. I leave continuous food for them?

I feed mine 2 times a day plus free range, half the time they wont eat dinner. Their first meal though is mixed with fruits and veggies where are night meals are oats, grains and layer pellets

I leave free feed poultry (layer) food.

They also free range, but I have limited range (1/3 acre) on bark chips, so they probably aren't able to get tons of bugs.

They rely on the poultry feed for nutrition. I find unless you have good range, you do need to feed them a good poultry feed.

Unlimited layers feed. Only a half cup of scratch grains or mixed bird seed twice a day for five hens, and 3 water stations in the summer. Two hours before sunset I let them out to free range on one acre of untreated lawn, contains lots of clover and dandelion. GC

So what are your thoughts on meal worms. Also table scraps... Especially in a breeding scenereo.

I give mine mealworms every once In awhile as a treat.

Like plain pasta or oatmeal or grits???.. I have also been told they love raw hamburger but not sure if it sounds like a good idean on that.
