how old are baby wood ducks before they jump out of the nest??????

    ok, let me rephrase the question..
    in the wild the wood duck ducklings jump out of the nest...
    how soon after they hatch do they usally do that? 2-3 days? 1 day? what?

    Usually the hen will wait till all(most) hatch then will fly out and call them out. it can very depending on the rate at which they internal/external pip etc.

    Exactly could be day old to 4 day old usually not more than 4 though.

    within 24 hours of hatch, by day 4 they'd be starved to death, but yes, as soon as all are out and dry, they go
