How old are Barred Rocks when they start laying?

I cant remember how old the hens have to be to start laying. I have barred Rocks (dominequers). Thank you

I can't say about Dominiques since they are a different breed from Barred Rocks and I only have Rocks. Actually, though, it's more of an individual thing, but mine started at 22 weeks and the last one started at 24 weeks, a bit late, but then, she always marched to the beat of a different drummer, LOL. I have some Barred Rock crosses, all BR moms with different fathers, and one started at 18 weeks and all of them are laying. They are now 23 weeks old.

Barred rocks are dominequers.
So are Dominiques, any chicken that looks like a dominique can be called a dominequer, they all pretty much came from that breed

Anyway, I always hear 18 weeks, mine are 13 weeks so im still waiting

Mine are dominique dominequers as opposed to barred rock dominequers.

They should start laying anywhere between 20-24 weeks. Some may start a little later.

Both great breeds, both lay very tasty eggs, right? Probably not any real difference in breeds as to when they start laying. Some have said their Doms lay a little less regularly than the Rocks, but I don't know if that's true since I only have the Rocks. Good girls, they are!

Well according to this site........... I own a confused Dominicer/rock roo < my roos comb is single........but looks like the Dom???? ummmm. I think I will always be confused
