How old are cockerels when they fist molt?

My old English game cockerel has started to lose his tail feathers so i think he is molting. I am hoping to guess how old he is from the age when they first molt. He is still active with all his girls so i am presuming that he isn't very old and that this is his first molt however his spurs are about 1.5 inches long so he could be older and this may not be his first molt. Any suggestions to when they molt and how old he is would help me greatly.
