How old are hens when they go broody??

as said its bred out of some hens.an some go broody shortly after they start laying.an for some spring causes them to go broody.
 
My buff orpington laid for three weeks, then went broody for four. Her genetics are right for brooding...she successfully raised three. My wyandotte has not gone broody, but my australorp has "dabbled" in it.
 
My BO went broody at around 10 months.... she's got a baby now, a cute speckled sussex!

I have a broody Mille Fleur D'Uccle now, she's about a year old.
