I was sucked in at TSC to getting some chicks and ducks. I mistakenly bought the 250w heat lamp bulb, and their inactivity told me that was all wrong. I've swapped it to a 60w, and now they're all happy. Given that the temp in the brooder is only low 70s and the fact that they have some feathers on their wings makes me think they're not freshly hatched. They also scratch a bit. What's your opinion? For scale they're about 3" tall. Thanks to all the members from that are on, I've learned a lot!

I'll try again, technical glitches!

I would say a few days old but less than a week.

I'm using a 250 watt red infrared bulb. I just raised it until I got the desired temp. I used a plant hanger so I could raise it. I am also using a thermometer to monitor the temp. Your clan is adorable. :)

I agree they look cold. Guys this young need more like 85 to 90 degrees with the option to get out from under the heat. Keep us posted and good luck.

What does that mean?

It means I agree with the quote,,, what was said x2 or 'ditto.' (at least that's my interpretation
