How old are roosters when they begin to crow?

I have two 15-week-old cochins who have only crowed once or twice. On the other hand, I have a three-week-old cochin chick who is already crowing. Since the little guy is still in the house at night, and he starts at about 5:30 AM, I am ready to

Must be common for these guys cause our Old English game Bantam still had his baby fluff and was crowing up a storm. Stupid me I erased the video clip we took of him doing his thing. He still is very proud of his crowing ability. He is a 1 1/2 years old now.
But we have a 9 week old Sumatra and he doesnt even attempt to crow yet? I was begining to wonder if he actually will crow at all even after being around our other Roo. I thought maybe he would start after he heard Scooter do his thing all the time but it did not seem to influence him at all.

My standard chickens usually crowed about 12 weeks. My bantam rocks are 7 weeks old & I've been hearing the gargling sound for a few days now. Can't wait until the 13 roos start to crow! They do hear my EE rooster since they are outside the last 3 weeks. We just finished the outside run (well it's temporarily finished) and I opened the door at 7 this morning & over half are out on the grass already. Not looking forward to crawling in to put them back tonight when they are too dumb to go in.

At what age do the hens stop cheeping and start clucking?

I had no idea roosters crowed that early! I have 6-week chicks and all are still peeping. Hopefully they are all hens.

Mine normaly start to make squaking noises around 8-10 weeks old and they start there first crow at 12-20 weeks old. They don't always follow what I said because they can start to crow at almost any age. But normaly they start to crow the weeks I said.
