How old are these babies?

These chicks are anywhere from 3.5 to 5 months is what I was told. I have one tiny one (I've never owned one this small) that seems to hide in the coop and run away from the others alot. It was sharing a run with these pullets and about 20 others. Is there a big age difference between them? Do I need to do anything special?

Ture dwarf chickens have shorter legs and necks, but it's simpler to just call it a dwarf. FTT is when something happens (could be any number of things) that causes the chicks growth to be stunted. This usually happens when a chick is a week or less old.

I've only had these chickens for 2 days. It was a whole community of chickens of varying ages and a full grown rooster in the run. I didnt handle each chicken as it was tossed into the crate and didnt realize the size difference. So it might be stunted and not just a younger chick? Should I pull it out of the group it came with until it gets bigger? It seems to eat and drink fine. A couple of the chickens seem to be coughing a bit so Im keeping an eye on that.

Oh ok, in that case, it could just be a younger bird. I just assumed the group was the same age, but of an unknown age.

I would leave it with the others, it's already part of the group, even if it's smaller. Removing it and then reintegrating would be a much bigger pain.

The cough sounds more concerning but I have no guesses on what it could be.

They were kept in an open air hoop run..no coop. And its been windy and cold here lately. They are eating and drinking. I put them on 22% protein crumble chick feed. They were only getting 16% protein Condionter feed previously. Hopefully, once nutrition is better they will be a little healthier. But..if you had to guess, how old do you think the smallest orpington is? I have 2 each black orpington and Easter eggers. You can see in the video the youngest running back and forth in background. They are so flighty, I'm trying to get them to trust me.

It looks like they are one marginal decision away from grabbing a bite of that cucumber!
Hopefully someone with a more experienced eye will be able to estimate the age of the smaller orpington in your new flock!
