How Old Are These Guineas?

Chain link fence is great for keeping your guineas in but unfortunatley it is large enough to let raccoons reach their arms in and grab your guineas. It is also large enough to let things like weasels, snakes and rats in. Wire mesh is preferred over chicken wire but chicken wire is better than chain link .
You can also layer hardware cloth (preferred) or chicken wire over the chain link fencing. That prevents raccoons from reaching in at least. It’s likely that a raccoon or possum will figure out the tarp and get through that with little problem, unless it’s lined with fencing or wire. Have you checked out the Predators and Pests forum?

It’s really illuminating to scroll through those posts and see what kind of predator problems people have had with what kind of setups.

A look there shows the use of Hotwire combined with chain link:

Anyway, take a look through the predators forum! Lots of help available there, as well as at the construction forum:

And of course here on the very best Guinea fowl forum!
