how much bigger will they be at 16 weeks VS 8 weeks?

I think they will probably double from 8 to 16 but by 16 should be close to their "final" size.
Again, I think...I'm trying to remember.

So will there be a significant difference between 8 weeks and 16 weeks for them?
Were going to try an add to the flock 1 or 2 more and want to know at what point they will be close enough in size.
My current 4 will be 8 weeks older then the next.

Thanks for the pics. cute chicks nice looking pullets

In truth I am asking about the difference between 8 week (2months) old and 16 week olds (4 months).

If anyone has any pics that show the difference in this, that would be great.
Or, of you can just tell me how much difference there is between 8 week old med-heavy breeds and 16 week olds.

I'm just trying to find out when would be the best time to introduce two new ones to my flock.

Again, there is going to be an 8 week difference in them.
I was thinking they might be close enough in size when the new ones are at 8 weeks old, but I dont know how much my current 8 week old pullets will grow in the next 8 weeks, so maybe 10 weeks is better?

Thanks for the input.

They grow a lot between those ages. I would say a 8 week old chick is about 2/3 to 3/4 the size of a 16 week old bird of the same breed.

I think you might be better off waiting another 2 to 3 weeks. It seems like mine leveled off in size at about 12 weeks old and have gotten fluffier and heavier since then, but not any taller or truly "bigger." And it depends on the breed- my Americauna leveled off in size at about 10 weeks and has not gotten any bigger at all. My RIR shot up another inch at the shoulder between 8 and 12 weeks and is now the tallest bird of the bunch. At 8 weeks the RIR was distinctly smaller than the Americauna, and now the RIR towers over all the other birds.

Are they kept where they can see each other every day? That should help with the adjusting period.

love the pics of the pullets on the bench! Mine have finally gotten to 8 1/2 weeks so I can't post a picture of them any older...

I can only look at photos posted and hope to find some at that age? Good luck with them.
