My parents have had them since '98 or '99 (nobody can remember) and just last year I got reallly into them! I bought five GLW to go with my parents flock of Plymouth Rocks. And this year I have an incubator, hatched 31 chicks so far (in my bator-barrowed one and hatched 7) and will be hatching more in June! Oh, and I drool over Eggbid and y'alls pretty birds till I can get some non-hatchery stock. I'm 18
Lets see...I got a few ducks eggs I saved from a nest that was being attacked by other birds last year, and someone managed to hatch out 2 in a bucket with a heat pad. One died, sadly...but 8 months later I had a beautiful adult pekin girl. Then she laid her first egg! After hanging around the duck forum for several months I started looking around the chicken sections. I loved the idea of having a dozen eggs a week from happy pet chickens. Even though duck eggs are slightly better, 2-3 a week didn't cut it. And the mess from 1 duck was enough. I got 5 chicks on my b-day on the 25h of Feb. Today they are 8 weeks...and all look to be hens, just what the feed store said! Now I'm happiliy awaiting eggs...I'm 15 now.
