How old before clipping wings?

If they are penned up, no reason to. They do go through several moults, not sure what are they stop. I've trimmed them at 8wks. Though little chicks can fly out of a brooder, so you can trim them at any age, really.

I had to trim a 3-4 day old chick's feathers, she kept getting her beak stuck in the new feathers and would flip herself, unable to get up, dangerous. Just don't trim too low, go along the row of the other feathers.

Thanks for the info. I am going to put them in a 50gal tub, not sure if it has a lid for it. Might have to build something.
