I have 17 New Hampshire chicks that are 6 weeks old and 18 RIR, Black sex link and Red sex link. They are currently in an outside pen that's approx 5' X 3' solid wood sides and a mesh top so there's really little to no draft. When is it appropriate to turn them out into a larger space and/or loose free range during the day? I have 2 adult roos that have been here a year or more so I think the chicks will follow them but I'm not sure. The roos roost close to the chicks and get on top of the pen to visit during the day. Thanks for any help

I have 5 fully grown chickens and 10 baby chicks... The fully grown ones are mean to the babies. I have no idea why. Probably because I am 12... But oh well I built a huge chicken coop with my dad for the big ones and if I need to I can build another big one for the babies..
