How old before you can tell the sex?

Other than that, you're at the mercy of the sexers at the hatchery. Or wait until they're about 6 weeks old.

Thanks, i just came home 2 wks ago and my parents had bought chicks from a local supply store, they dont know what breed or sex, they were too exicted to even think. lol, #parents

i have a 3 week old leghorn that is very confusing. im not sure weather its a boy or girl. leghorns are none to grow very fast, but its soooo hard to tell! any advice? (not vent sexing)

Can anyone help me determine if these are able to be sexed yet or a possible age? A friend was doing a project in Detroit and found these babies on the side of the road. I've never had chicks before. I have 7 older hens! Excited but nervous to care for these littles!! Also what breeds? Looks like a buff orpington and a Sussex?

Very true. We did TSC straight runs this past Spring. 8 chicks= 2 pullets, 6 cockrels mix of Barre Rocks, RIR and EEs. Very blessed I was able to find a good home for the roos.
