I wasn't sure where to put this but wanted to know how long my eggs can sit on a counter (less than 80 degrees) and still be ok to eat? thanks

I would not leave them too long maybe 24 hours or so... you can to the float test.

when I find a stray nest i will crack the egg into a bowl first to see if its ok...

if the nest is wayyyy back in the bush i will just toss all of them..

some web sites are saying for about 2 weeks as long as they are cool and dry

We're one of only a few countries where refrigerating them is the norm. You're fine for at least 2 weeks, unless you keep it warmer than 70 in your house. Putting them in a cool dark pantry shouldn't be a problem as long as you also don't have a problem with mold and mildew. Don't trust a float test. Rotten eggs can sink too.

Mine stay in the cool dark cabinet for up to 2 weeks, beyond that the birds get them back scrambled. I don't keep more than we will use in a week usually.

hard boiled eggs are better for them and they enjoy them more ( the oils in scrambled eggs make them less desirable for your birds health)

I don't use oil or anything to scramble them...ah the beauty of old cast iron, they never stick

I'm with Cindiloohoo, 2 weeks then I scramble with no oils. Cast iron well seasoned is pretty much non-stick. Cook at low to medium low and no problem.

Hard boiled is good too, I like to switch it up a bit.

When I feed eggs back to the chickens they get it ALL. Egg and shell. Adds a little calcium.
