I have a couple of questions abo uh t my chicks. I was given 2 dozen Amercauna eggs, (light green/blue) now i have 14 chicks, that are 3 months old and I'm wondering how to sex them. Possibly EE's, but not sure. I have some eggs, but they are in the incubator and didn't think to take pictures before i put them in.

I also am wondering about the wheaten colors, I have one that is kind of a patchwork colors and am wondering if it is a wheaten (picture attached.)

Your easter egger in the pic is a cockerel. You can tell by the patterning. Females are evenly patterned and blend nicely from one color to another from their heads to their bodies. Males are blotchy and have patches of colors. They are really easy to sex once they are fully feathered.

For me I don't know for sure until i see pointy saddle feathers coming in. And yep those are EEs. Also if it came from a geenish egg its not a true Ameraucana. True Ameraucanas always lay blue eggs.

That's what I was thinking, but my neighbor is not the type to accept that he is wrong so I'm not sure I want to suggest that what he was told is wrong until i can get pictures of the eggs. I will take some when i candle them.

I was thinking he was a cockerell, just wondering if he is a wheaten.

They are very light, just hard for me to tell if they are blue or a very light green. I will take pictures when I candle next time.

He's an easter egger cockerel, and not wheaten. He looks reddish. But, Easter eggers don't have standard colors, because they're not a standard breed... so he'd probably end up looking red wheaten-ish.... Not a true color.
