Just wondering as I have one female Bobwhite who I got last year. She's 3 years old and has outlived many diseases and raccoon attacks prior to her current living conditions. She's the only one left out of 13 quail I was given last year. I lost the others to parasites and cold-like cavity-swelling diseases from rain about 6 months ago.

Thankfully I now know how to avoid these circumstances harming the poor birds. I'm just wondering how long other people's Bobwhites have lived for?

hmmmm, that depends if you feed her, clean her cage, give her room temp. water, and give her natural day light she'll live for many years. I think about 8 or 9 years!!! good luck!!

I've got 7 year old female Bobs. I am still wondering how long they do live. 2 to 5 years is the average for captive quail. But with the proper care, I am sure they can live a pretty long life.

This is what I had heard as well - compared to the 8, 9 and 7 year olds you both have, I tried to read everywhere to find out ho wlong they could live and it seemed everyone off BYC was saying only 2 years.

She is kept very clean and always has new food and water every day :D She is kept outside in an aviary with other birds who she gets along with very well.

Thank you!
