My oldest chicks are 4 weeks. We've never used fodder with our previous chickens, but would like to give it a go now. How old do they need to be b4 they can have it?

I start offering sprouted grains (newly sprouted, not long) at when they are over a week old. So, at four weeks old they should be fine to handle it, although it make take them a few tries before they get interested. Sometimes chicks are very suspicious of anything new. Just make sure they have access to grit before offering it.
