My four peeps look like they need entertainment. They are curious and unless there is a new object to explore in their brooder (paper towel, cardboard) they peck at each other a lot (probably normal?)
I'd like to try them with mealworms. How old do they need to be for treats? Thanks.

My girls are 13 days old today. This last week I started giving them meal worms and also picked a few small bugs from outside for them to have. They also have access to grit. I plan on doing yogurt as well, just have not had time to stop and pick it up yet. No matter what kind of new treat you give them, prepare for the keep away game. I have more fun just sitting and watching them try to steal the worms from each other.

I don't feed my chicks treats or grit until they are 3 or 4 months old. The exception is that I do give them finely mashed boiled eggs, and plain low fat yogurt. I feed chick starter and water with organic ACV only.
